David at the Red Sox Game HQs/Video/Caps/Article!
Hey everyone! David performed at the Red Sox game today, and he did a spectacular job! I just uploaded HQs thanks to my friend Ryvos and some caps, but they’re really LQ so hopefully I’ll get some HD ones soon
It was a party 11 years in the making, with ESPN analyst Dick Vitale and “American Idol” runner-up David Archuleta among the notable attendees.
A season ticket holder, Vitale was on hand with his family and will throw out the ceremonial pitch in Game 2 on Saturday. Archuleta, meanwhile, sat with his brother and father, clutching the words to “God Bless America,” which he was set to sing during the seventh-inning stretch.
The young singer sat several rows behind home plate, eyes wide and grin even wider.
“This is my second baseball game, and the best seat I’ve ever had,” said Archuleta, a first-timer to the Trop. “This is so exciting.”
David Archuleta was walking peacefully, undisturbed, toward his seat in section 105, when a reporter spotted him. He was wearing a blue Rays jersey with his name across the back.
He didn’t have many thoughts on the Tampa Bay Rays, saying he hasn’t been keeping track of baseball.
“It’s fun to be here in Florida,” he said, though he added he was only staying in the area one night. He said he was trying to see his grandmother, who lives east of the area.
Exciting news all! David will be singing “God Bless America” at the playoff game tomorrow in Tampa! Starts at 8:30pm ET/5:30 PT on TBS, hopefully they’ll air David.
“Friday night’s starting lineup is pretty squeal-inducing. We mean the entertainment lineup, not the players. Local saxophonist B.K. Jackson will perform the national anthem before the first pitch, and American Idol star David Archuleta will sing God Bless America during the seventh-inning stretch.” Tampa Bay.com
Don’t forget to keep voting for the Crush music video on VH1’s Top 20 Video Countdown!
Also, David just posted a new blog on his MySpace! He’s so adorable, and Brooke is such an awesome person, I’m so glad they’re still friends after Idol
My album is almost done!
Hey guys! We’re getting close to making final decisions on which songs are going to go on the album, and it’s pretty exciting! The last few days have mainly been recording still, and just finalizing the songs to see which ones will be the best fit. If you’ve been reading the alloy.com blogs I’ve been doing, then you probably already know about what happened this weekend with my brother and sisters visiting to come to Miley Cyrus’s sweet 16. It was a lot of fun, and it was cool being able to spend some time with them. It was just unbelievable how big of a birthday party it was! I’ve never seen anything like that haha. I put some pictures up on the alloy blog, but I have some more to show to you guys too. So last night I helped out Brooke and her Husband, Dave, with rearranging their stuff in the bedroom haha. I don’t think I was a whole lot of help, but it was still fun. We listened to music, talked, and… moved stuff around lol. Brooke’s been in Arizona for the past week or so, so it’s nice to have her back! But she’s actually going to try and give me a haircut here before I leave to do some more recording. Brooke’s awesome haha. We only have a little bit of time for that though so I better get going and I’ll talk to you guys later!
P.S. A song I’ve really liked lately is Little Things by Colbie Caillat. So if you’re looking for a song to listen to and you haven’t heard it before, you should check it out.
David will be on the Today Show on November 11th, the day of his album release, and if you scroll down in the post there’s a few interviews that he did
What do you have planned as far as your album is concerned?
What we’ve been trying to do is keep a nice mixture of songs, so I don’t limit myself too much. It had to be done so quickly. People can take a year sometimes, just working on songs and thinking, “OK, what direction do I want to go on this album?” I knew had a few months, and those months were taken up doing a tour, so it was interesting trying to juggle both of those things at once. When I’d have a day off, I’d go record. But I don’t want to keep myself limited with this album.
Official Nielsen SoundScan numbers have been posted this week on USA Today’s Idol Chatter and Crush sold 66,677 copies for a total of 633,306 units. Simply amazing! It’s a clear hit (like we didn’t already know that) :p
